Ukrainian Special Services Strike Vital Station In Crimea: Unraveling The Impact
ROMAN SVITAN

Ukrainian naval drones can start talking.

On the night of December 20, objects in the occupied Crimea were attacked. In particular, the Center for Long-Range Space Communications of the Aerospace Forces of the Russian Federation in the village of Vitino, Saki region, and a military unit near Alushta. I’ll explain what the Center for Long-Range Space Communications is, and what this strike could mean.

There were several such centers under the USSR in Ukraine — in the Crimea and in the Poltava region. These are long-distance space communication stations with over-the-horizon control. What such a station is is a communication station, of course, and also a location station. Therefore, the destruction of these stations makes it possible, first, for our USVs (unmanned surface vessels) to move. After all, sometimes a USV can be controlled using repeaters that can hang in the air. And such space communication stations can see them at long ranges. If anti-aircraft missile systems do not see, then these stations can be seen by our repeaters for USVs. Naturally, these are the stations that see NATO AWACS in Romania. And they can see planes and reconnaissance drones that control the Black Sea, including NATO planes, and maybe our planes.

For us, the good thing about destroying any Russian ears, eyes and communication systems is that they will stop taking information. That is, the information that comes in. They also have a system of internal communications, tactical communications, and transmission of tactical information. And by destroying any locators or communication systems, we cut off ears and eyes. We make opponents silent, blind and deaf. One of the first tasks is precisely the destruction of locators and communication systems.

Does this mean that our naval drones may soon start talking — I'm gently hinting that there is such a possibility. But we still need to find out to what extent the equipment of such a station was damaged. There are more than 150 stationary facilities in the Crimea. These are also those that were built by the Soviet Union at one time and they have not gone anywhere. Therefore, naturally, knowing where all this is located, especially locators, space communications stations. These are gratings — hundreds of square meters. You can't move them too far away. Therefore, it is not clear why we haven’t gotten them yet. But apparently, that time has come. The intelligence services have acquired a sufficient number of drones. This is either the SSU or the Defence Intelligence. Let's see who will take responsibility for this blow in the next 24 hours. This was done by either one or the other of our intelligence services. They are just calculating the location, whereabouts of the command staff, control vehicles, and destroying the station itself plus the control system of this station.
