Belavia Plane Makes Strange Figure In The Air When Flying To Astana And Approaching Moscow

What's happened?

On Saturday, May 4, the crew of a Belavia airline plane encountered a technical problem while performing a regular flight from Minsk to Astana. The captain notified the dispatcher about a technical malfunction. This was reported by the Aviaincident

telegram channel.

The Embraer E195LR aircraft (tail number EW-513PO, capacity of more than 120 passengers) took off from Minsk at 03:47. While flying over the Smolensk region towards Moscow at a flight level of 35,000 feet (10.7 km) and being 75 km northwest of Vyazma, the captain of the aircraft reported a failure of the technical compartment cooling fan.

Judging by the data from the Flightradar24 service, at this point in the route the plane described a noticeable circle and had already turned towards Minsk, but then took a trajectory to resume the flight along the given route. Probably, the crew was faced with the question of whether to continue the flight or return to their home airport, and the board was awaiting a decision.

Returning to the route, the crew successfully completed the flight, landing the plane at Astana airport without delay.
