Analyst: Lukashenka Scared

The West is beginning to realise that Putin's real goal is not Ukraine.

Analyst Siarhei Chaly believes that Lukashenka is afraid of the end of the war in Ukraine. He told "Deutsche Welle" about it.

"Lukashenka says, we need to end the war with Ukraine with a draw as soon as possible. In fact, he understands that no matter how the war ends, it won't be any good for him," said Siarhei Chaly. "Now the whole world has realised, and America has directly said it through Speaker Johnson, that Putin's ambitions are not limited to Ukraine.

That is, the West is beginning to realise that Putin's real goal is not Ukraine, that the ultimate goal may be Poland. And Putin has been talking about it lately. In this sense, a conflict with NATO countries is quite probable.

And Lukashenka understands that he has nothing to do in such a situation, so he says, we can't close the border, if something starts, it will be the end for us, roughly speaking. That is, he is constantly talking about how scared we are.

He's really scared of what this could turn into. And these suggestions about the draw mean nothing more than "please leave me alone because I'm caught between a rock and a hard place."

He understands what the threat of Russia's defeat means for him, he understands that there is no good way out, so he is offering a truce.
