Poland Promises Response Since Russian Ambassador Ignored Warsaw's Summon

In the next few days.

Polish Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz promised that Warsaw would respond to the Russian ambassador's ignoring a call to the Polish Foreign Ministry in connection with the violation of the country's airspace by a Russian missile.

The minister said this in an interview with Polsat.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland summoned Russian Ambassador Sergei Andreev on Monday because on the night of March 24, a missile fired as part of the shelling of Ukraine flew over the Lublin Voivodeship. However, the Russian diplomat ignored the invitation to the ministry.

"This is not the first time we have to face violations of both the law and international standards," the Polish defence minister admitted.

He said that the Polish authorities would make further decisions in connection with Andreev's behaviour.

“We are in constant contact with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Prime Minister, the President and the National Security Bureau. These should be agreed decisions of the community because this is the reaction of the entire Polish state," he added.

Kosiniak-Kamysz stressed that the next steps can be expected in the coming days. According to him, the ambassador's decision was "absolutely wrong."

"This is a manifestation of neglect, and we cannot be indifferent to this," he commented on the words of the Kremlin diplomat, who said that he had not been provided with evidence of the presence of a Russian missile.
